What if Light never lost? In this alternate death note ending, Light doesn't die young and succeeds in the end by defeating Nia. He lives to 70 years old and when he's finally tired of killing, he calmly asks Ryu to write his name, not out of fear, out of boredom. But death isn't the end. Light wakes up young again in the Shinagami realm. He doesn't remember dying. Ryu greets him and reminds him of the rule Light ignored years ago. Death note users don't go to heaven or hell. Then it starts. Names appear in front of Light with a cause of death, and Light suddenly dies the exact same way. Then, he gets hit by a truck. One by one, Light relives all the deaths he caused. Over and over again. Ryu explains the punishment. Every Light Light took, he must experience their death. Tens of thousands of deaths. And after it's over, he doesn't become a Shinagami, he simply disappears. That's when Light snaps and adapts. As long as he keeps dying, he keeps existing. That means time. And with time, comes a plan. Light learns that the voice judging him belongs to the Shinagami King, the only being who can kill the same human endlessly. So light does what he's always done best. He plots. Decides to challenge the Shinagami King, offering his intelligence to rebuild the decaying Shinagami realm or overthrow it.
