Hi, I'm Dr. Chris Bommille from Cross County Cardiology. And today I wanted to talk to you about the importance of staying hydrated. From a cardiology perspective, a lot of people think that hydration or having a lot of fluid increases blood pressure because there's more fluid in the body, not true. There's certain things that can increase blood pressure like salty drinks or fruity drinks or things like that. But the most important thing is with plain water or carbonated water helps flush out the system. So, keeps the kidneys healthy. Kidneys are the body's blood pressure regulator, so if you keep kidneys happy, blood pressure stays well controlled. In addition to why it's so important, I think you have to figure out how to stay hydrated. A lot of people bring water bottles, and I think that's wonderful. I think it's important to set a goal and try to maintain that goal and match it over the course of the week to see if you're actually keeping up for it. So, I hope this helps. I wish you all a great day.
