Prior to the 1950s, pretty much all everybody did was full body splits. Then, in 1958, steroids were introduced, and from then on, pretty much everybody does a body parts split of some sort, whether that be a bros split, or push pull legs, etc. Now what caused this change? Was it the fact that we learned something new, and these body parts splits are better? Or is it because steroids allow you to get away with worse programming? We've basically gone backwards in our applied understanding of hypertrophy, and in the pre-steroid era, they were doing things a lot of things better than we do now.
