Who did the Cold Celebration? First, Cold Palmer's Cold Celebration has become iconic in the last 12 months. Since he debuted it last season, many athletes across different sports have hopped onto the trend, but where did Palmer himself get the idea from? To find out, you need to start by looking back to Palmer's days in Man City's youth team, where he played alongside current Asden Villa forwards, Morgan Rogers. The two players became close as they rose through the ranks before summer 2023, when Rogers left the sign for Middlesbrough and Palmer to Chelsea. Fast forward to December of the same year, when Palmer put Chelsea one new up against Luton, and celebrated with his cold gesture that is now so widely known. When asked after the match where he got the idea from, Palmer responded by saying, "My boy morg's did it for Middlesbrough, so I told him I'd do it." It just so happens that one week previous, Rogers had scored for Middlesbrough and celebrated in the same manner. Soon after, Rogers sealed a move to the Premier League with Asden Villa, and he has marked each of his four goals so far with the cold celebration, causing fans to wonder who did the celebration first. Eagle-eyed fans have also noted that in the NBA, Tray Young of the Atlanta Hawks has been performing the same celebration since 2020. Young's nickname of "ice Tray" encouraged him to come up with a celebration equally as cold. The point guard has mentioned Palmer in their podcast appearance, saying, "I hear he's a good player, I just did it, I didn't get it from nobody, so now you know.
