Okay, so my husband is an ultra high-network businessman and we were having a conversation about the conversations that you have with people and about how they tell him a lot about where that person's going to be able to get to in life. So when he's talking to somebody, if they make these mistakes, he can pretty much tell that that person's probably not going to advance very far in their career and back when he was dating before he met me, he would say that these would be things that would result in him not wanting to have another date with the person. So what are these big faux pas to somebody like him? He said, number one, was somebody who has pre-programmed responses. So it shows to him that you don't have a very extensive vocabulary and that you are not reading. He said that if you read a lot, there's always going to be a perfect word for every conversation that you're having. So think something along the lines of using these very pop culture words like epic, vibe, legend, those things complete turn off to him. If he hears that, he'll joke around and say, "Let's go!" you know, just like that, that's a huge turn off to him. It's not going to be something that he's going to think that's a great businessman. So the vocabulary that you have is very important. Number two, he said the things that you can talk about. So if when he's stuck in a corner talking to you, if all you can talk about is current television shows or sporting events or maybe alcohol, he said that that just shows that what you spend the majority of your time doing is sitting on the couch. You don't have hobbies. You're not taking the time to learn something new. And then that also shows a reflection of that you may not have very good critical thinking skills that you're just too absorbed with what you're being shown on the television. So pretty interesting. So one, expand your vocabulary to get out and do something and learn something.
