I have probably the world's number one Pokemon collection inside this case. This man just walked into the shop with what he calls the ultimate Pokemon collection, and he's ready to sell. So how much do you want for these things? I'm looking for right in the area of $500,000. He explains he's been collecting for nearly 17 years. It started as a hobby with his sons, but even after they left for college, he kept going. Spread across the counter are dozens of first edition charisards. Some graded a perfect 10. Rick looks at the stack of cards and admits he doesn't fully understand the height, so he decides to call in an expert. The expert arrives and explains that Pokemon first launched in Japan in 1996 under Nintendo, and the trading cards exploded in popularity in the late 1990s. He also adds that first edition base set cards are the most desirable, especially Charizard, the most iconic character from early Pokemon. He points to the grading label from PSA. PSA 10 means the card is nearly flawless, perfect corners, perfect surface, perfect centering. Some first edition charisards have fewer than 50 PSA 10 copies in existence. Then Rick asks the following question. What do you think this stuff is worth? All together, I'm estimating anywhere from comment for part two.
