hey guys I've had a few people ask me like based on the video that I posted on like my transfer transfer into pen and I've had a few people ask me since then like what I did or like what my experience has been so I figured I'd make a video because it's better than like just like sending a bunch of like I don't maybe I don't know so I'm gonna put here like a quick like run down of like what like my stats as a transfer student mind you it's very different to be a transfer student then coming in as a first year like freshman so keep that in mind in like your application process but yeah basically I went to a two-year community college in Miami where I just kind of dedicated those two years to like basically like doing things and getting involved and yeah kind of like building up my resume for like my transfer schools so yeah during my time there I had a 4.0 GPA and I got my associate in Arts and Biology like I'm pre-med so I took all my pre-med classes except biochem over there and I took biochem here at Penn last semester and on top of that I did research so I did a year worth of research which is I think pretty helpful especially for like a school like Penn which is very research like heavy school so I think that was good I was particularly very involved in two clubs one of them was an aquaponics club which we like built our own aquaponics system if you don't know what aquaponics is just search it up it's like it's an agricultural like thing and then parallel to aquaponics I did a global medical brigade that I was like kind of leading that and we did like a fundraiser we did like various fundraisers and like we just kind of like worked with medical stuff I think there's not like a specific like one thing that I think like got me into Penn I feel like it was just a culmination of things like I think my personal essay is really helpful oh and also letters recommendation I got very close to like a few professors so I think the letters of recommendation were pretty good or at least they're really strong and I submitted three letters of wreck for Penn I think two or three I'm not sure regardless though I yeah I wrote my personal essays I revised them a gazillion times I had a professor like helping revise them so that was really helpful and yeah I ended up applying to 11 schools I think as a transfer student and I got into I'm saying this is schools that I apply to so I applied to you Miami University of Florida UNC Chapel Hill USC UPEN Yale Duke Johns Hopkins Boston College and Northwestern out of all those schools I got into all of them except Yale Duke and Northwestern and then I got waitlisted from Hopkins and Boston College so if that was what I was dealing with ultimately I made a choice to come to Penn and I really am happy with the decision I really like it here so yeah if you guys have any more questions then just let me know and maybe I'll make like a part two of anybody cares but yeah
