You're gonna steal this framework and become a meeting pro and impress your manager. It's a 333 meeting method, baby. I've been using this method for years and every single person I share it with, they copy it. It doesn't just apply to work meetings. You're meeting with your best friend because you're planning a vacation. 333. So here's the breakdown. Before you're meeting, your agenda's gonna look like this. Three updates, three questions, and three next steps. The reason it's three each is to keep it simple and focused. For your three updates, I want you to think about the what. What are the facts, what is the context, and what are we meeting about? I also like to ask people on the team if they have any updates at the beginning of the call. If people feel safe enough to speak at the beginning of the meeting, they are more likely to participate throughout it. Now, you want to separate information sharing from decision-making. That is where the three questions come in. If a meeting doesn't have a question it's trying to answer, it's not a meeting. It's a gathering. Your question should be answering how, why, and where? There are three types of questions you can be asking. There are strategic, investigative, and operational. And finally, are your three next steps. You're not gonna fill these out before the meeting. You're gonna fill them out in the meeting. Verbal accountability is more likely to be executed than just written. The answers to the three questions that you all discuss need to be delegated to a person in a timeline. Eventually, it will feel like second nature. Focus meetings produce focus work and help you become leadership material because it's simple and it works.
