All right, step by step on how to finesse scam likely collars for 500 to sometimes $5,000 per call. Let's go So a couple things we need to get out of the way first You need to go ahead and register your phone number on the federal do not call registry You have 30 days after the time that you register it for you to be able to start making claims Once you've done that if you're still getting calls, then you're able to make claims the next thing I need to address is what Kinds of calls can you actually go after you don't need to get hung up on the fact that the caller ID says scam likely It's not always a scam. Sometimes it is, but it's not always. Let me explain Some of these calls originate from criminals who are trying to steal your identity You're not going to be able to file a civil claim in America against criminals But a lot of these calls are just overseas call center that are generating leads for American companies who are paying them to spam your phone That's where the money is. So how do we find out who is calling? I'll put it to you another way. How do we find out who's responsible for the call that I received? You see in the old days of telemarketing American companies would simply spam American consumers But once the telephone Consumer Protection Act and laws like it came into effect They started to hire overseas call center in an attempt to hide who was actually spamming your phone So what I do when I get a scam likely call is I immediately start recording You need to check the legality on this in your state because it's not legal or admissible in court And every state and in some states it might be illegal, but in my state It's legal and admissible in court now when I get them on the phone These callers most of the time want to confirm that you're a qualified customer for the American company that hired them So I will just play along with their sales pitch like I'm incredibly interested I've given them all kinds of nonsense information addresses names, whatever I'm just trying to figure out who they are But once they've determined that you're a qualified customer they'll transfer you to the rep in the United States That person's job is to close you Meanwhile, I'm recording all this So now while I've got the recording going I'm confirming details about the company with the American rep Now listen, this is a skill you have to kind of develop You can't just sound like a cop on the phone doing an interrogation I just play along like I'm a highly interested consumer My wife needs more information, my accountant needs more information Someone else that's not me needs more information I'll also try to build rapport with the rep so that they feel comfortable divulging information to me Once I've got enough information I end the call and tell them not to call me ever again Now I take the pieces of information that I found on that call I save the video of that call and I start investigating to make sure that I'm going to be going after the right company Now's when knowledge of the law comes into play Here's the law that says 500 endamages and it says the judge can triple the award That law applies in every state but in my state and there's a good chance that in your state as well There are state laws that increase the amount of money you're able to claim in court Otherwise known as statutory damages I'm posting a part two right after this so go to my page and check it out
