The Trump Administration's celebrating that they just sold the first federal building in decades, but there's a problem. One, we've sold other federal buildings in the last two decades, and two, they sold it to the Chinese Communist Party. But they don't know that, because they think they just sold it to the Dowian Development Group for $24.26 billion, or about $175 million discount out over the last appraisal on that building about 10 years ago. So they claim they're going to save $700 million over 10 years by selling this building, and they sold it at a massive loss because they claim it needs $200 million in deferred maintenance, which it doesn't. When you look at the maintenance logs and the operating costs for that building, it's cost the federal government about $5.5 million a year. To replace that building will cost $700 million, which is exactly why they came up with this number, so they can say, hey, look, it's a net neutral. Oh, and don't pay attention to the fact that we sold it to a company fully owned by the Chinese Communist Party, because we don't know that, and you shouldn't either.
