You're not bad at social media management. It's just that no one has told you what actually goes into a strategy deck. I've been a social media manager for the past three years and I scaled my agency to multi-six figures in my first year. My strategy deck has always been a retention tool to get my clients to actually stay. My clients literally pay me thousands per month to create this for them, but I'm going to show you what goes into a strategy deck because I truly want you to wait. Let's get into it. Okay, so the first thing that you want to include is your brand overview. Think of like things about the brand and their USP so their unique selling point. This is going to be pulled from the new client questionnaire that you already have sent to your clients. You will need to know how to articulate what makes them unique in contact. So this is a non-negotiable. Your next page is going to be your tone of voice. So are they more casual or are they more formal, right? You kind of want to show them on a scale because not every single brand is going to be explicitly casual or they're not going to be explicitly formal. The next page is going to be the social media goals that your client has set forth for you. This can look like anything according to what they have answered on the new client questionnaire, what you guys have already talked about in a call. Now, the part that you need to pay attention to on this page is going to be the KPIs, right? So your client is going to tell you I want to grow a cult like following that you're going to include, okay, what are the KPIs that we are going to track month after a month in order to hit that goal? The next part is going to be the target audience and this is going to be the most important section of the entire strategy deck. We want to include things like their demographics, what their age ranges, their gender location, yada yada yada, but you also really want to make sure that you are including the demographics. What are their interests? What are their challenges? What kind of behaviors are they experiencing on a day-to-day basis? More psychological things are things that you should know in order to speak to that in content. I like to always include different personas as well. A lot of times clients will have adjacent avatars, so I like to create about like rea of them where the next section is going to be the competitor overview. I don't love to spend a lot of time on this. I truly believe that clients are a category of one and that's how you're going to see the most results. I just like to include who they are, how they compete, what they're doing differently. The next section is going to be your audit. It depends on how many platforms that you're posting to depending on your package. You need to break a dial between e-platform. Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, whatever it is that you're posting to, you are going to create an audit. The username makes sense. Does the profile picture make sense? Is it optimized for SEO and discoverability in their bio? Following the audit, you want to make sure that you have the actual strategy. This part might look different from person to person because everyone has different strategies. You want to include your content pillars, a mock feed or the social media profiles going to look like. Also, you want to include some sort of example posting schedule. Now, even though you technically know what to put in your strategy deck now, don't be the person who spends hours creating it and designing it because it's going to close your timelines and your deadlines, they're not going to love how inefficient you are and they could potentially leave you from there. You don't want that. What you need to do is have a system on how you create this and have a template as well so you could just like and play your information for your specific client.
