If you use Venmo to like send money back and forth between you and your friends are just for everyday life, they're being sued currently. And you could get up to $500. If you have your bank account linked to Venmo, that information isn't safe. They're being sued because when you link your bank account, they're using a third-party service, plaid, until a little pop-up comes up, asking you to connect your account, giving that company that information.
