It can be hard to figure out which foods are best for you if you have diabetes. Your main goal should be to keep blood sugar under control. Your diet has a major role in preventing and managing your diabetes. Here are some very important foods for people living with diabetes, both type 1 and type 2. Salmon and other fatty fish are great sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to decrease insulin resistance in people with diabetes. Avocados are high in fiber, low in carbs and have healthy fats. The molecule and avocados may safely reduce insulin resistance. A must have for people with diabetes, eating lots of green leafy vegetables. Leafy greens are loaded with numerous vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin C.
