It has occurred to me that rich people love their collectibles. So what if instead of taxing the rich, we simply gave collectibles to people under a certain income bracket, and then they can sell those collectibles to the rich, therefore distributing the wealth of people across different socio-economic classes. Like every time an NFL player retires, their jersey is shipped off to a household that makes under a certain income. Every time Nintendo prints a new set of Pokemon cards, a set of special edition Pikachu's are sent out to a group of people, and then they get to decide whether or not they want to keep it or if they want to sell it. And when they want to sell it, they're going to put that online and there's going to be rich people out there who want those products, and they're going to spend tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars on those products, and they're going to be happy because they didn't get taxed, and then other people are going to be happy because they just got $600,000 for an NFL jersey, and now they're able to put a down payment on a home. Let me know if I just solved the income inequality crisis in the comments below.
