Here's how to set up hidden words so that messages with your private info never show up in chat, even your mods can't see it. If you watch just one video of mine, it should be this one. As someone who has had to previously get the police involved and move as a result of people doxing me on stream, trust me when I say, it's important. If this video is sent to a streamer friend and make sure you follow. Hidden words are a list of terms that Twitch will auto block in chat. If someone types them, the message gets caught and never shows publicly. I'm going to tell you how to set it up, what information to put in here and then why it's important. Here's how to set it up. Go to your creator dashboard, head to moderation and open settings. Scroll to blocked terms and phrases. Set your full name and any nicknames that people use, the correct spelling and variations. Your street name, your town, your post code, any part of your address. Your email, your phone number, your fax number, your kid's names, your partner's names and pet names if they're unique. Your school name, your workplace name, local landmarks near your home. So why is this important? This helps prevent doxing, harassment and accidental leaks. You can set it up once, update to any time you move or change details and stream safer. This only takes five minutes, but it is unbelievably important.
