Paul stares at a horrifying scene. He wakes his sleeping wife. He obeys every order without hesitation. He has no idea what the soldiers in uniform want. Rifle's point straight at him. He does not fight back. Paul is dragged out of the room. The armed men label him a traitor. His crime is hiding people they call traitors. The commander hands Paul a pistol. He orders Paul to shoot the people kneeling on the floor. Paul sees his wife. He sees his son. His finger freezes. He cannot pull the trigger. Paul pretends he does not know how to use a gun. The commander warns him in a cold voice. Refuse and he dies. Paul tries to buy his family's lives with money. The commander finds it amusing. He knows who Paul is. Paul runs an international hotel and has money. The price is 10,000 francs for each person. Paul agrees. He hands over the cash and saves his wife. As he prepares to leave, he turns back.
