This is a death note. Even rainwater steers clear of it. A boy stumbles upon this strange notebook, and when he gets home and casually writes someone's name in it, a prisoner dies instantly from a heart attack. Kira also discovers there's a Shinagami living inside the notebook, but before long, he's basically keeping the death god as a pet. To stay off the police's radar, Kira makes it a habit to leave a pencil lead wedged in his door hinge whenever he goes out. But one day when he comes home, he finds the lead snapped in two.
