landlords you will be fined 7,000 pounds by the council if you forget to do this most people have no idea what's happening right now but on the last day of this month in May all tenancy agreements are turning periodic now legally you have to send all of your tenants the renters rights act information sheet and you need to send it this month by the 31st of May 2026 get that in your head put it in your diary you also have to be able to prove down the line potentially that you have done this so we recommend using the royal mail signed for postage otherwise if you can't provide evidence 7,000 pound fine the sheet's available on the government website
