ofc i’m now older and realize that young ppl might’ve looked online for a outlet from the real world and were unfortunately taken advantage of. this was my experience and thankfully i had a natural sense of paranoia and skepticism with people that always helped me be safe #onlinesafety

as a kid I never understood how people got like groomed online and would get tricked by other people for like their personal information because I was also very very chronically online and was in many fandoms and communities but I was very like very aware of my online presence like I knew not to trust people not to give out my like actual personal information and just to be safe online like I don't know that I just was always very aware of myself I just I don't know if it was maturity or something like that like I was very chronically online but I just was safe with it for example I remember my younger cousin who is just a year younger than me she had discord in 2020 and I like got like so worried and paranoid I immediately told my mom and then her mom aka my aunt and just like made her to get her to delete all of that stuff like I was not taking any fucking chances like I was not about like I knew stuff that happened on discord I was just never a part of it like I was very skeptical of anybody I think my mom put that paranoia inside of me but I always made sure to keep it safe
