Syukur Alhamdulillah, saya telah turun padang meninjau sendiri perkembangan projek RTS Link di Bukit Chagar yang bakal menjadi pemangkin utama transformasi mobiliti Johor Bahru dan rantau selatan negara. Projek strategik ini bukan sekadar menghubungkan Johor Bahru dan Singapura, tetapi bakal mengubah landskap pergerakan rakyat secara menyeluruh apabila mula beroperasi kelak. Namun begitu, Kerajaan Negeri amat memahami bahawa peningkatan pergerakan manusia dan kenderaan susulan pembukaan RTS turut menimbulkan kebimbangan rakyat khususnya berkaitan kesesakan trafik di pusat bandar Johor Bahru. Justeru, beberapa langkah sedang dan akan dilaksanakan dari sekarang, antaranya: 1. Memperkukuh akses pejalan kaki melalui pembinaan Pedestrian Overhead Bridge (POB) yang menghubungkan RTS Bukit Chagar dengan kawasan tumpuan utama sekitar bandar; 2. ⁠Memperkukuh sistem rel dan pengangkutan awam bersepadu melalui penyambungan RTS dengan ETS, Komuter Selatan, bas awam, teksi dan shuttle; 3. ⁠Memperluaskan konsep Park & Ride di lokasi strategik seperti Larkin, Southkey, Sutera Mall, Toppen, serta AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn bagi mengurangkan jumlah kenderaan memasuki pusat bandar; 4. ⁠Melaksanakan pengurusan trafik yang lebih tersusun dan pintar termasuk laluan kontra serta penaiktarafan lampu isyarat pintar; dan 5. ⁠Menyusun semula aliran trafik di kawasan tumpuan utama sekitar JB Sentral dan Jalan Jim Quee supaya lebih lancar dan teratur. Insya-Allah, segala usaha ini merupakan komitmen berterusan Kerajaan Negeri dalam memastikan Johor Bahru benar-benar bersedia menyambut pembukaan RTS demi manfaat Bangsa Johor.
