Welcome back to my kitchen. So today we are going to make a very delicious, nice creamy hot chocolate mix to give to a friend of mine. And I'm going to use this heavy cream powder. So I want to tell you why I got this heavy cream powder. One, I'm trying to eliminate processed foods if you guys have followed me for any amount of time you know that. I love hot chocolate up here because I live in Alaska. It's always cold. And this is my go-to hot chocolate. And the first ingredients are sugar, corn syrup, and vegetable oil. So I want to try to avoid some of those processed things that are in things you buy from the grocery store. This is 100% heavy cream. It's been dehydrated and it's in a powder form. So everything that I'm using today is in its normal natural state with no additives. So let's get started. We're going to do, I'm just going to do a pint-sized jar because this is just for gift. Normally I would double this to do a court-size jar for myself. So we're going to start with a half a cup of cocoa powder. Three quarters of a cup of powdered sugar. And then we're going to do half a cup of heavy cream powder. Using the same thing. Just look, I mean just looking at this heavy cream powder. It's so rich just looking at it in the bag. So I usually just use non-fat dry milk but I'm going to use non-fat dry milk and a combination of heavy cream for this recipe. All right so this is a quarter cup of non-fat dry milk 2%. And then the last ingredient which you have to add this ingredient because it makes all the difference is just an eighth of a teaspoon of salt. So the most important thing with this recipe is to whisk it together really good because you don't want any clumps in there so that when you actually scoop it up to make your hot chocolate with some hot water, there's no clumps and it's going to dissolve really easily. So give me a minute to get this all whisked up and then we'll take a look at it. All right so it's all nice and whisked together. So we're just going to pour it in using our stainless steel whisk and this should be right at two cups so it should fit in a pint-sized jar just right so you can get all that down in there. And then once I'm done getting it in the jar, I'm going to shake it down a little bit just so that it settles a little bit in the bottom and then I always keep these nice fancy lids on hand for when I make a gift for somebody. And now you've got some beautiful rich creamy hot chocolate mix. You're going to do two to three tablespoons per cup of water for this and the difference in this and normal hot chocolate is going to be your heavy cream powder. Give it a try going below.
