Yes my sister was 12 years old and she got pregnant and I was 14 years old. We got pregnant at the same time. Our children are now 23 years old. They're one month apart. And every time I post about my testimony and I share this part of it, I always get these kind of comments. People are so shocked and rightfully so. And I honestly forget because this is just normal to us. We had the craziest childhood and just the craziest life. And so to us, it wasn't even a big deal that we were 12 and 14 and pregnant. But yet these comments, I do a double take and I'm like, yeah, we were 12 and 14. What do you mean? And I get a lot of comments from people from other countries saying America is wild. This would never happen in Norway, Sweden, whatever countries you're from. And I think that's so crazy because this is all I know. And we went to a teen parent high school. My sister was in like, I don't know, how old are you in here? 12, sixth grade I think. So when we got pregnant, we left public school and we joined a teen parent school, which was in an alternative school. It's a school for bad kids that get kicked out of the public school system and it's a bunch of trailers where they had put teen parent. It was really crazy because we were in their pregnant and then with babies with all these bad kids. So a lot of our classes would be with the bad kids. Remember being pregnant and two of the kids started fighting and they were serving as breakfast and they like picked up the table and threw it at the other kid like, oh my gosh, they're going to put me into labor. So yeah, we went to a teen parent school. They taught us how to be moms. They taught us how to give birth, how to take care of babies. They had a lot of people that would donate stuff there to give to us that really, really helped us out. That's how we fed and closed our babies and they would help us get WIC, food stamps, Medicaid, all of that stuff, the school bus would bring us there and bring our children to daycare and they also paid for daycare. So at one point, me and my sister were riding the school bus with our babies. So we were like, you know, 13 or 15 years old with babies riding the school bus, dropping the kids off to daycare and then riding that school bus to school. A pretty wild and we both come a long way. Thankfully, we made it out of that cycle and we are both pretty functioning and pretty stable for the most part considering where we came from. So yeah, pregnant at 12 and 14.
