This is a true story. A teenage babysitter was hired to watch a little boy while his parents attended a party late at night. The house was large, quiet, and deep in the suburbs. At first, everything felt normal. The boy watched cartoons, ate snacks, played with his toys, but the entire night he seemed nervous. Every few minutes he kept glancing down the hallway toward his bedroom, like he was afraid of something waiting inside. Around 10.30 pm, the babysitter told him it was time for bed. The boy immediately went silent. "No," he whispered. "I don't want to sleep in there tonight." The babysitter smiled gently. "Why not?" The little boy looked down at the floor for a few seconds before answering. Then quietly said, "Because the man comes out after midnight." The babysitter laughed nervously, thinking it was just the child's imagination. Still, something about the way he said it felt real. She walked him into the bedroom anyway. The room looked completely normal. Nothing seemed out of place. She tucked him into bed and started walking toward the door. Then suddenly, the boy grabbed her arm tightly, hard enough to hurt. His voice started shaking. "Please don't leave me alone." Trying to calm him down, she sat beside him for a moment. "You're okay," she whispered. "There's nobody here." The little boy slowly looked toward the side of the bed. Then whispered. He hides underneath it. The babysitter forced herself to smile. "See?" she said softly. "I'll prove it." She slowly got down onto her knees beside the bed, and bent forward to look underneath. The moment her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she stopped breathing. A man was hiding under the bed, curled tightly against the wall, smiling wildly. He stared directly at her and whispered, "You should have left us alone." The babysitter's blood ran cold. She grabbed the little boy and ran out of the room screaming.
