Here are some things that I thought were normal that actually aren't growing up as a Mormon in Utah. Number one, we were taught that Jesus and Satan were brothers. I thought that all Christians thought that. I thought that was just like a thing, apparently not. Another big one is that Mormons are taught that there's like three levels of heaven. So there's the celestial, the terrestrial, and the celestial kingdom. And like which kingdom you go to, it's like a tear level. And which kingdom you go to depends on like how devoted to Mormonism you were in your lifetime. Also, if you don't know this, Mormons have to pay where they don't have to. It's not technically required. But in order to get into the temple and therefore to go to those three kingdoms or whatever, you have to pay 10% of your income to the church. Which by the way, the church has like 200 billion dollars or something like that. It's like one of the bigger corporations. Let's call it what it is. It's not a church, it's a corporation. They also taught for a long time that in order to like get lighter skin, you have to be holier like the whole curse of cane type shit, you know what I mean? Does anyone know what that is? Or is that a Mormon thing? But yeah, so they believed that they could like turn people white by converting them. Mainly talking about Native Americans here. One of the early Mormon prophets also taught that mixing your seed with a non-white person was punishable by death. And actually several black people because of this thing that the prophet said word lynched and murdered and horrifically tortured. The Mormon temple rituals, you've probably seen it maybe on TikTok. To get into the temple, you have to do all this stuff. Like right now, I'm not allowed to go into the temple because I didn't pay my tibing, which is crazy, because I'm a fucking teenager living at home. But anyways, in order to go into the temple, you have to do all this stuff. And then when you get in the temple, there's a lot of rituals and you have to wear certain clothing. Like an apron, you have to wear a green apron, which represents Adam and Eve. You have to wear your garments. Everybody knows about that. But if you don't know about that, it's like underwear basically that Mormons have to wear at all times unless they're like swimming. And they are pretty full coverage and they have like symbols all over them, which like mean different things. I don't know. I didn't actually get in doubt. That's what they call it going through the temple when your older is getting in doubt. Yes, we did do baptisms for the dead. I was like 11 years old when I did my first baptism for the dead. Also known as baptism by proxy. The Mormons actually did baptisms for the dead on behalf of like several thousand Holocaust victims, including Anne Frank, and also they did Hitler, which is kind of insane, and the Romanovs. So most likely, if you've heard something crazy about Mormonism, it's probably true. If anyone has any questions about what it was like growing up Mormon in Utah and then also not being Mormon in Utah, which is my current life right now. And also, if you're one of my mom's friends and you follow me, don't tell her about this video. Okay, she'll get mad.
