I've been eating watermelon my whole life, and only today did I learn the right way to cut it. One, cut the watermelon in half, make several cuts both horizontally and vertically, forming a grid of small cubes. Just pick it up and eat. No messy hands. Two, cut off a round watermelon slice about two centimeters thick. Place it on a plate. Score the flesh with an even grid pattern. Be careful not to cut through the rind. Run the knife around the edge of the rind separating the flesh from the skin. Now you can snack while binge watching your favorite shows. Three, take a quarter of a watermelon. Make four vertical cuts. Then make several evenly spaced cuts from both sides. Divide the flesh into horizontal sections. Separate the rind from the flesh from underneath. The whole process doesn't even need a cutting board, and the juice won't spill everywhere. Four, trim off both ends of a long watermelon wedge. Divide the rind on the side into three sections. Remove the top and bottom sections of the rind. What you get is a watermelon slice with a built-in handle, perfect for serving guests. Five, insert popsicle sticks into the watermelon. Then cut it into long strips. This makes it super convenient to eat. Six, how can summer be complete without chilled watermelon? Cut the watermelon into rectangles. Place them in the freezer. They're even more refreshing and thirst-quenching than ice cream. Seven, if you have important guests coming over, then it's time to show off a sailboat-shaped watermelon. I learned this from a five-star chef. It looks elegant, but it's actually not difficult to make. Eight, this is the easiest way to cut a watermelon. Perfect when you have lots of friends and not much time. Cut the watermelon vertically into eight equal wedges. Then lay them down and cut them into chunks. It may seem a little rough, but it guarantees everyone gets watermelon as quickly as possible. And not a single bit goes to waste.
