I gained 3000 followers in two weeks using two very simple tactics that I use in my day job as a community engagement coordinator. Number one, ask questions. I'll just take a seven second clip, put a question over it and that's it. Or, questions of the hood. One of my most watched videos has almost 200,000 views and I literally open with what she used to do to take backpacking. Number two, create a series. If you want to build community, you need like recurring content that people can come back to over and over again. I took a bit of a break and then I started posting again back in September and I made my series three months later. The second video in that series got 80,000 views and I gained over a thousand followers. Then in the last couple of weeks I've been doing a whole series around looking for a new job. That series got me over the 10k mark and I'm now pushing like 12k and I gained 3000 followers in two weeks. Everybody keeps saying like the big shift in social media at the moment is going from having followers to having a community. So I've used these two things. So that's my voice for you.
