What if the universe we experience is just a hologram? The holographic principle suggests that our three-dimensional reality might be an illusion projected from a two-dimensional surface. Leonard Susskin proposed this principle in the 1990s based on studies of black holes and string theory. It challenges our understanding of space, time and reality. Like a two-dimensional hologram creating a three-dimensional image, the universe could be encoded on a two-dimensional boundary.
