Responding to @Jeawok Media video about the San Diego temple. #temple #houseofthelord

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lottery Saints and I'm going to be responding to this video and all of the misinformation that was articulated in this video. This video is a prime example of why you should not just believe everything that you see on the internet, including my own video. Go do your due diligence, head over to the Church's website and you can learn for yourself. I saw in a lot of the comments that they're saying I wonder why Mormons are just now opening their temples and that's not true. The very first open house happened in Washington DC Temple in 1974 and ever since then every newly constructed temple or temple that has been renovated has been open to the public for a couple of weeks before it's dedicated. There are temples being built at a rapid pace right now and it doesn't matter where you are in the world when that temple is finished, there will be a period of time where everyone is welcome to come into the temple and learn about what we do in there. The first thing that he says in this video that was super creepy was the baptismal font and for somebody who's unfamiliar with Solomon's temple and the Old Testament, I can totally see why someone would say that but actually this exact structure is referenced in first kings, things that we do in the temple are ancient and so when you look through them with a modern lens they can seem weird or creepy or even cruelty at times but when you look at it through the lens of the time of the Old Testament, it makes a lot more sense and feel a lot less weird. The first thing that he brought up was the locker rooms and the fact that we all wear white and he referenced this as something that was creepy when in reality wearing all white is a way that we can fill unity and not look at others and judge their economical status, their wealth, their whatever. We are all in very simple white clothing and it brings a lot of unity into the ceremonies. Number three, he talks about ceilings and he adds this really creepy music and makes them sound super weird but in reality, we believe that families are eternal. We believe that the family is ordained of God and that through his power we can be with our family for eternity and that is such a beautiful doctrine. In 2023, Dalin H. Oaks actually talked about how no one is going to be forced to be sealed to somebody that they don't want to be sealed to. Next thing he talks about is the artwork in the temple and this is something that I feel like you're either downed if you do or downed if you don't, a lot of the artwork in our temple is representing many different cultures, ethnicities and races and that's because we are a worldwide church. He said something about a lot of pictures with Jesus Christ with brown people and that has a lot to do with the Book of Mormon. We believe that Jesus Christ after he was resurrected, he visited the Americas and those paintings are depictions of that happening. So he talked about how he thought the San Diego temple was amazing and that they were like not being shown everything in the temple which in a sense is true. There are multiple instruction rooms, multiple ceiling rooms, there's one celestial room, but we don't need to show you every single ceiling room because they all look the same and we don't need to show you every single instruction room because they look the same. Temple has blessed my life in way more ways than I can even express in this video and I am so grateful for the temple and they are being constructed all over the world. There's so much misinformation out there. We are misrepresented quite often but we really are a people who believe in Jesus Christ. We worship Him and we try to be more like Him and that's about it. There's really nothing that crazy about members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
