This is an I can honestly say that I've been to Japan way more times than I can. After so many years of trouble in this house, I think I've finally made the perfect Japan travel cut. So here are my top five tips. Firstly, Japanese locals don't use Google reviews, but they use an app called Tabedo, yet access to way more restaurants in the area, and even though the ratings out of five makes them kind of low, anything above three from five is considered very good. Trust me. Secondly, for translations, I use kuri kuri instead of Google Translate. Not only do I find it more accurate, but I find that it translates handwritten Japanese much better as well. Apple says a really cool feature where if you click on the translation, it gives you an explanation of what the translation means. So for example, like local Japanese dishes like dry kuma kuri, I also used it a lot at the Jingeita exhibition where almost everything was handwritten. Though I use Apple Maps outside of Japan, I exclusively use Google Maps inside of Japan. I have much easier to understand, especially when it comes to like trains and figuring out which exit to use. So I'll tell you which platform signage and color to look out for. Fourth tip will be to use GoTaxi instead of Uber. People in Japan don't generally use Uber as much as they use GoTaxi. Now also find the prices to be cheaper sometimes. Next tip will be to add your POSMO SWEAKA card to your Apple Wall. Just makes your life easier, and you just use Apple Pay to top it up directly. It's good because I wasn't scavenging my bag every time I wanted to use the trains in Japan. And yes, both POSMO and SWEAKA will work just the same in most major cities in Japan.
