You're addicted to your suffering. You don't even realize it, but you've built a home in your pain. You replay what broke you, what they said, what you lost over and over, like the wounded self gives you purpose. But how can you move forward when your mind is changed to what hurt you? How can God write a new chapter if you won't stop rereading the old one? You're not broken beyond repair. You're just stuck in a loop he's trying to free you from. You've made suffering your identity, but Jesus is calling you to make healing your new addiction. Isaiah 43, 18-19 says, "Forget the form of things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing." Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it? God is saying, you've cried enough tears over what you can't change. You've carried the weight long enough. It's time to lay it down. Let me make beauty from your ashes. Let me show you what peace feels like again. This isn't random. You're hearing this right now because it's time. Time to stop being addicted to your suffering and start being addicted to your healing in Jesus.
