comment “july” over on my IG @Itsmariahbrunner and I’ll send you all my Fable 5 prompting hacks :) Anthropic put out a guide for their newest model and these 3 changes matter most: it runs longer by default, it can take actions you didn’t ask for, and it loves spinning up subagents. #claude #aitools #fable5 #aiworkflow #promptengineering

Anthropic just dropped a prompting guide for Fable 5, which is their newest and most powerful model. And three things in it are going to flip how you use it, especially the last one. Number one, difficult tasks are actually going to run longer by default on Fable 5 than on previous models. This is actually one of the largest shifts. So to keep it from overplanning, if one of your tasks is pretty ambiguous, just pop up this prompt. Number two, it can occasionally take unrequested actions like sending an email for you when you didn't ask it to. So to define explicit constraints about what Fable 5 can and can't do for you, just put in this prompt. Number three, Fable 5 actually dispatches parallel subagents more rapidly than on previous models. And you'll want to use subagents frequently, but you need to provide very explicit guidance on when this delegation is appropriate. To make the most of this, just pop in this prompt. So Fable 5 is definitely more advanced than previous models, but you do still have to direct it. And we have until July 7th until it becomes paper use. If you just come in July, I'll send you all of my Fable 5 prompting hacks.
