Here's exactly how to tell you a formal imbalance, even if your labs are coming back normal. And no, your doctor won't tell you this. As normal and optimal are not the same thing. Except why I am an award-winning nutritionist, so if women's gotten hormone health interest you, hit the plus icon and follow along for daily content. Okay, first things first, when you get your test results back, you're going to look for your progesterone number and you're going to look for your estrogen number. It might say estradiol. Your labs and probably your doctor are not going to tell you this, so save this for later because we need to do a little bit of math. That way you can refer back to it. So this is going to give you a way more accurate read on if something is actually going on with your hormones. And if all of those symptoms are actually a result of a hormone imbalance. All right, let's do this. Okay, so with this example, you can see that your estrogen is in PG and your progesterone is in NG. You need to convert PG into NG. Since NG is a thousand times smaller, we're going to take 52 divided by 1000, and that gives us .052. And now we want to divide this number into our progesterone. So just drone divided by estrogen is 15 divided by .052 equals 288. So this tells us that our ratio is now 288 to 1. Normal lab range is anywhere from 100 to 500 to a ratio of 1. You ask me, 100 to 500 is quite wide. But I like to deal with optimal ranges that are way closer together. So something like 200 to 300 to a ratio of 1. Now, in our example here, 288 to a ratio of 1 fits in perfectly to this 200 to 300 range, which means that this person has really optimal hormone. But if your number was less than 200, then you're looking at something like estrogen dominance going on inside the body. And if your number up here is more than 300, then you're looking at something like progesterone dominance. As always, let me know if you want more videos on estrogen dominance and progesterone dominance. You guys know I never leave you hanging, if you don't want to do them off by yourself, I found this cool little calculator here. Just search up this. It'll bring you up to this calculator. It'll do the whole conversion for you. It will give you your ratio. And then you can make sure that it fits into the optimal range. Don't forget to follow for all things gut health and hormones.
