I photographed the world through train windows, but rarely interact with what's happening inside the carriage. On a journey through the Balkans, I brought a small cannon printer with me. It's allowed me to capture these passing views, and make them physical. A moon and a mountain between Athens and Tessla Niki, a pile of crashed carts between split and so grab. A pelican drifting between bar and tall grade, what had only existed on a screen, suddenly became something I could hold. It's an unusual thing to see a printer on a train. People would notice, come over to watch the photographs emerge from the machine. At first I thought the project was about the prints, but very quickly it became about the conversations they cast on the list. I gave people the photographs, and asked them to leave a thought on the back, what began as fleeting moments outside the train, came a collection of encounters inside it.
