I have some of the most popular primers on the market right now. Let's go through which ones are worth and not worth your money. Starting up with the Hood of Beauty Ezebler primer. Now, I love almost everything in the Ezebler line, but this primer is absolute trash. There's virtually no blurring action, and it takes, I don't know, maybe two hours before it starts to emphasize texture, like no other. The texture of the actual primer also feels very soapy when you're applying it. It almost feels like it doesn't fully blend in. It really doesn't blur as much as it says it does. Next up, we have the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. Now, this is honestly a staple. This primer is going to blur and add so much dimension to the face. I would honestly say it's suitable for all skin types. It's not glowy and it's not matte. It's like the perfect in between, and it really smoothens out your face before makeup. Next up, we have the Milk Hydrogrit primer. This does exactly what it says. It really grips your makeup. But I will say, I find this primer only works best when you apply your makeup with a brush. If you're using a sponge or a beauty blender, this can pill like crazy. Aside from that, it makes your makeup look smooth and natural and softly radiant. And I'd say if you know how to use it, it's definitely still worth it. Next up, we have the Hourglass Vanished primer. Now, it is a bit expensive, but in my opinion, on myself and clients, it does a job. It completely blurs the pores. But I just personally find you can find better for less. Next up, we have the Max Studio Fix Matte primer. This is going to blur and mattify the skin, but I will say if you have dry skin, you might not want to use this. This can be a little bit too drying. Definitely controls shine and gives you the perfect matte base before makeup. Speaking of matte, we also have the Max Studio Radiance primer. I would say all skin types could use this, but if you have dry skin, you will love this. This has such a soft moisturizing texture that really hydrates and soothes the skin. It has a slight gripping effect to it, but not like the milk hydrogrip, so it's actually going to keep your makeup on throughout the day as well. Next up, we have the iconic London Under Glow Blurring primer. This is another one I'd say is suitable for all skin types. It's blurring, but also glowy at the same time. Perfectly smoothens out the skin, bringing so much life back to the face. The texture is definitely quite syrumy, super easy to use, and it's the perfect prep before makeup. Last but not least, the one size Secure the Sweat primer. I'm more of a fan of one size Secure the Blur primer because the Secure the Sweat is a little bit too drying for me, and I have oily skin. It does have a subtle white cast sometimes, and that is expected with the formula like this, but for some reason it just feels extra drying and a little bit harsh on the skin. It's almost uncomfortable, so unless you have really, really oily skin, you may not want to use this.
