The man was buried alive by a mudslide. He opened the car window and reached out to feel how thick the mud was, but a rush of dirt poured into the car. Terrified he slammed the window shut just as he started to calm down. The sunroof suddenly shattered. He quickly grabbed some tape trying to seal the cracked glass, but the thin tape could not withstand the pressure he was about to be buried alive. When he noticed a jack under the seat, he adjusted it to its maximum height and used it to brace the sunroof. It actually worked. The mud above slowly stabilized. He immediately grabbed his phone and tried to call for help, but he was buried too deep. The call could not go through. He then tried to use the car radio, but the static only made him feel more hopeless. After calming himself for a moment, he came up with a plan. He found a piece of paper from the passenger seat, and based on his memory of the route, estimated his buried location. Then he used his phone to record a rescue video and hung it up high, hoping the signal might get out. After doing all this, he felt extremely thirsty, so he grabbed a bottle of water and started drinking heavily. Then he suddenly realized he was still trapped underground, and immediately stopped his foolish action, but most of the water was already gone. While searching the trunk for anything useful, water began seeping through the cracked sunroof. He rushed over and drank directly from the leak, to collect the water. He took a card from his wallet, folded it into a funnel, and inserted it into a plastic bottle, then secured it to the jack, so the dripping water would flow inside. Excited, he clapped his hands. Later, he even stored his urine for backup. Not long after, he began to struggle to breathe. The oxygen inside the car was running out. He took out a folding chair and removed a hollow metal tube, then used a nail clipper to make a small hole in a bottle cap. He tied a knot in a rope and threaded it through the cap, then stuffed the rope into the tube, using the cap to seal the opening. He could not help but admire his own ingenuity. Next, he used a piece of wire to drill a hole through the sunroof, then pushed the metal tube upward through it. Even after inserting the full length, it still did not reach the surface, so he made another tube the same way, attached it to the first, and kept pushing upward. As the tube went deeper, the resistance grew stronger until it would not move anymore. The effort drained his strength, and he needed even more oxygen, but the air inside was running out, so he made yet another tube and pushed with all his strength. No matter how hard he tried, it would not budge. Then suddenly remembered the jack in the trunk. He used it to push the tube upward, but its reach was limited, so he placed a thin towel on his shoulder and used his body to force the tube higher. Suddenly he felt the pressure give way. The tube had finally broken through the surface. He quickly inserted the wire into the tube and pierced the bottle cap blocking it, then leaned in to look. When he saw a faint glimmer of light, he shouted with excitement, and began breathing in the fresh air from above.
