Cut two boards at 45-degree angles and glue them together. Once it sets, cut two thin slots across the outside of the corner. Now, glue thin wooden strips into those slots, so they bridge across both sides of the joint. Once the glue dries, trim the strips flat and sand everything smooth, leaving thin wooden strips across the corner, making it much harder to break apart. Slice a dozen cuts into a wooden plank, starting one foot from the end. But stop just before they go all the way through. Then do the same a foot from the other end. This leaves a thin outer layer still holding everything together. Next, cover the cuts in wood glue and press them against a curved form bending the wood. The cuts will close in on themselves, forming the two curved angles of a stylish side table.
