So college welcome week is coming up and everyone wants to like look their best But can I just ask a question? Why is it that for black women wearing their natural hair is never an option for the first impression? Online I'm noticing that it's of course of like black women You know Complaining about how it's too hot to wear a wig, but I don't want to wear braids. Whatever will I do? How about wear your hair? Like when I talk to my white friends or friends of any other race, they're not super concerned about how am I gonna hide my hair for welcome Wait because that's essentially what you're saying wearing your natural hair is not even an option And my white friends are like, oh, I'm gonna pry curl it or I'll put it up into a ponytail Like they're not saying oh, I need to cover it in some way People are gonna be mad in the comics because people aren't smart enough to have discourse about how individual decisions are Influenced by society, but that's the conversation I'm having right now Like we really need to ask ourselves why is natural hair not even on the table? It just it doesn't really make sense
