Over the last 48 hours, I have been asked countless times my opinions on the latest open AI influencer trip backlash, so here they are. This story tells you everything you need to know about the state of AI PR today and the completely different conversations that are happening about AI inside of Silicon Valley as compared to outside. I think what people who are inside Silicon Valley tend to forget is that 99% of people are getting their information about AI from their boss's boss's boss passing down a sh*t the AI mandate when that guy can't even connect to the Wi-Fi. But people are smart. Like, we know this stuff is important and we know that it's actively changing the world around us. But there is a dearth of high quality information about how this stuff is actually going to impact my life and my community. In my opinion, the only job of every marketing and PR firm for an AI company right now should be in bridging the gap from inside Silicon Valley to outside. Not to sell a story about what AI could what it should have maybe be. But to share insights and education about what this stuff is actually doing today. So what does this look like? Content that means heavy on education, publishing white papers, doing public info sessions, doing very intentional, educational, targeted creator outreach. That's why for me as a creator in this space, I think the best use of my time is hanging out here in cat labs with other tinkers playing around with new tools and then flipping this camera and showing you exactly what it is that we're learning about what these tools are really amazingly capable of. And also what's like totally made up hype bulls**t. I think the majority of people right now are craving honesty and they're craving answers. And by the way, I'm not just saying that companies should do this to be nice. I genuinely think that this is the winning strategy. And if you really believe that AI is going to make a better world for all of us, then by all means show us why. That's how I feel about that. Food look good though.
