If you want a fucking sleeper that looks like an ordinary small sedan from the 2000s but hides a turbo engine built for serious tuning, start with the Dodge Neon SRT4. Most people see it and assume it's just a cheap American sedan built for everyday driving and commuting. But that's where everyone gets it wrong. Under the hood sits a 2.4 liter turbocharged inline 4, producing around 230 horsepower from the factory, known for how well it handles additional boost and serious tuning. Start with a front mount intercooler to keep intake temperatures under control when the turbo starts making serious boost. Then add a high flow downpipe to reduce restriction and allow the turbo to flow exhaust gases much more freely. Add a cold air intake for better airflow and sharper throttle response. Finally, an ECU tune ties all the modifications together, raises the boost and unlocks the true potential of the 2.4 liter turbo platform. The result is a fucking brutal Neon SRT4, making around 390 horsepower that feels nothing like the ordinary little sedan it looks like from the outside. The turbo hits much harder, it pulls brutally from a roll and it can easily leave much more expensive sports cars behind.
