Parry menopause can cause some really strange symptoms that a lot of women, and sometimes their providers, don't realize can be related to hormone fluctuations. Most people think of irregular periods or night sweats, but estrogen and progesterone receptors are found throughout the body. As estrogen fluctuates and progesterone is declining during parry menopause, it can affect much more than just your reproductive system. Some women develop burning messenger, more of their tongue, lips, or inside the mouth feels like it's burning or tingling without an obvious cause. Horses notice itching, crawling sensations on the skin, or in the ears, or that allergies and histamine type symptoms seem to settling at worse. Heart palpitations are another symptom that can really catch women off guard, even with a completely normal cardiac evaluation. Others notice brain fog that's beyond being forgetful. They lose their train of thought, struggle to find words, or walk into a room and completely forget why they went there. Of course, hormones aren't the only possible cause of these symptoms, so new symptoms should always still be evaluated by your provider.
