A beautiful woman was letting herself go on the grassy field, clinging to that fleeting sense of freedom, because every time she tried to connect intimately with her husband, she was met with cold rejection. She had been sent to the countryside to rest while pregnant, and ever since, her days had devolved into a stifling routine of solitary childcare. Her husband spent his days managing the farm, and when he came home at night, he'd drink alone and tinker with his telescope, barely acknowledging her. Time and again, she'd break down in tears, begging him to listen, only to be met with silence. The loneliness of early motherhood, with no one to share the weight, consumed her. Then one day, she discovered he'd been flirtatiously texting another woman, that sent her spiraling into a darker, more volatile state, constantly on the verge of snapping. And right then, he brought home a dog, supposedly to lift her spirits. But the animal barked non-stop, its shrill cries grating on her already-fraid nerves. She couldn't take it anymore, she picked up his shotgun and made the world go quiet again. That incident drove an even deeper wedge between them. Afterward, she began having vivid hallucinations, fantasies of a strong, handsome man who would listen to her pour out all her frustrations. That imaginary affair became her only escape, a fragile release vow from the suffocation of her real life. Even if it was all in her head, it still felt a hundred times easier than facing the cold, in different man she was married to.
