Why don't more mechanics change oil like this? It makes future oil changes much faster and cleaner. First, he drills out the original drain hole in the oil pan using a large drill bit. After cleaning the area, he prepares it for the next step. Then, he cuts a brand new thread using a heavy duty tap. He turns the tool slowly with a ratchet, making sure the threads are clean and precise. Once the threading is complete, he takes a metal fitting and wraps the threads with Teflon tape. This helps create a tight seal and reduces the risk of leaks. The fitting is then installed into the oil pan and tightens securely with pliers. Next, he prepares a small valve with a red handle. More sealing tape is applied before the valve is threaded into the fitting. To make the connection even more secure, he adds a layer of thread sealant around the joint. As the sealant cures, it helps prevent leaks and improves durability. Now, the system is ready for use. Instead of removing a drain plug, every time he simply places a container underneath and opens the valve, the oil drains out in a controlled way, making the entire process cleaner faster and easier.
