This 16-year-old boy has spent past five years living in a pond, because when he tries to leave, his body begins to burn. This is Ikbal from West Bengal, India, and since about the age of 11, he has been eating, sleeping, and living almost entirely submerged in this pond. His neighbors say that they regularly see him floating there from morning until night. Now he says that he does this to avoid pain because every time he steps out of the water, he gets this unbearable, burning sensation on his skin. But despite his family trying everything from hospitals to local healers, no one can figure out what the problem is. However, recently after a clip of him casually eating snacks in his pond went viral, a wealthy businessman decided to reach out and offer to pay for his medical expenses to review his case. And he is being airlifted to Mumbai and admitted to a hospital for special treatment. So hopefully they can figure out what the problem is. And of course, I'll keep you guys updated.
