Some white women are out here healing so loudly, they end up in an alt-right pipeline. The daughters of the witches you couldn't burn end up whoop-de-dooping that parabolic curve and ending up as white nationalists. Something that's always blown my mind is how you can draw a clear line but from essential oils to eugenics. And it's sneaky, right? It's insidious. It first, it comes off as like really empowering content, really empowering statements, statements around the reclamation of identity, work around developing better boundaries, being in places that allow you to be well, to support yourself, to nourish yourself. But one of the things that they often forget to deconstruct in their healing process is the whiteness itself. And because whiteness is so perfectionism-based and so individualistic, the healing outcomes reflect those values. You can see that there's no community integration. These women aren't healing in reciprocal, accountable relationships. They over-rely on whitewashed appropriation. And I think this is what happens when the goal of healing is to heal oneself by any means necessary, to liberate oneself at all cost. For me, for example, the ultimate goal of my healing is to be free, to be so free that my freedom frees others, to be operating from a place of spaciousness that flows into community and allows community to flow into me to integrate and be integrated. It is not to become the hero of my own story. And so too often, these women are unable to see anything beyond their pain. Nor are they able to see the way that shared pain, collective pain are impacted by a myriad of other societal frameworks. An identity quest is never going to be a healing journey. And what I mean by identity quest is when we are seeking to optimize, to pedestal, to have supremacist-based ideals about the version of us that is the most worthy, the most healed, the most perfect. Healing is not meant to insulate us from all pain and all burden for the rest of our lives. Healing for me has allowed me the distressed tolerance to understand and arrive to the pain of others, to legitimize it, to validate it, to see myself in their pain, and also to recognize myself as a potential harm doer, because I am, because we all are. And it breeds this kind of passive complicity where your own internal peace is paramount. Anything that disturbs, disrupts or challenges that is toxic, negative, and needs to be eradicated. If you don't heal within loving supportive community with community in mind, there are pipelines perfect victim, which is exactly what drives these women towards these highly anti-social, if not absolutely radicalized, alt-right ideologies. We can't heal isolated from collective ethics. We can't heal if we have to be perfect, if we have to be good.
