We had just picked everything up, so I politely asked if she could put it back. Instead, she started cussing us out. At first, I'd tried to brush it off, but then she did it again. Knocked the trash can over a second time. We told her to move along, but she shouted back, this is my hood. And I couldn't help but think, if it's your hood, why not keep it clean? That's the part that makes no sense. The sad reality is this house is about to be boarded up in a couple of days. So people won't be able to stay here anymore, but watching someone trash the yard we were fixing was frustrating. It's hard to see neighbors who rather create chaos than help restore their own community. We're out here trying to bring dignity back to a property, and instead of support, we get hostility.
