If you’ve ever felt like your heart is trying to beat out of your chest, SAVE THIS VIDEO! 👏🏻 Tachycardia & heart palpitations are incredibly common during perimenopause, and they can be triggered by a whole cocktail of things happening at once… anxiety, histamine surges, hormonal fluctuations, nervous system dysregulation… you name it. 🫠 So here’s a little more context on what’s happening behind the scenes… When your nervous system gets stuck in fight or flight, your heart rate can spike out of nowhere, even when nothing “threatening” is actually happening. And once you’re in it, it can feel almost impossible to talk yourself back down. 👀 That’s where the Valsalva maneuver comes in. This is a technique that stimulates your vagus nerve to help manually slow your heart rate back down. Here’s what you’re gonna do… ⚠️ If you have a heart condition, low blood pressure, or are pregnant, please check with your doctor before trying this one. 1️⃣ Sit down first (this causes a temporary BP drop) 2️⃣ Deep breath in through your nose 3️⃣ Pinch your nose at the top of the breath 4️⃣ Forcefully try to exhale through your nose for 15-20 seconds 5️⃣ Release and exhale through your mouth You can repeat as needed, and some lightheadedness afterward is normal…that’s just your nervous system resetting. 🤌🏻 Let me know if you try this technique, and make sure you follow along for more #perimenopause & menopause science backed hacks! 🤗 #hormonehealth #hormonalimbalance #womenover30 #womenover40

I have an incredible hack for all of my anxious girly sets struggle with racing heart and heart palpitations. This hack is going to work for any tack of cardio trigger whether that's anxiety, histamine issues, hormonal fluctuations, whatever it may be. This technique is called the Valsama maneuver and we're going to do it together. So first I would recommend sitting down, this technique does cause blood pressure fluctuations but this is totally normal. We're going to take a deep breath in through our nose and then at the top of that breath you're going to pinch your nose. And then for 15 to 20 seconds you're going to try to forcefully exhale out through your nose. If this release 15 seconds then you're just going to exhale out through your mouth. You can repeat this technique multiple times if needed. It is normal to feel a little bit light headed after doing this technique but you should also feel like a sense of calm and relaxation. Please let me know if you try this and if it works for you but if you found this video to be helpful make sure you hit that follow button because I post hacks like this daily.
