book is one of the only glimpses we have into the mind of someone who was once considered a genius. William James Siders was a child prodigy who grew up to live a mysterious and private life. This book shows us what he was thinking about during his years of the radar. It's called The Animate and The Inanimate and it's a theory of physics speculating that maybe the universe is like chicken board. We are in a white space but in the black spaces around us the second law of thermodynamics is reverse. In these regions there could be reverse stars that take in energy instead of emitting it and a glass could unshatter itself. The pieces being pushed back together in a way that an our section of the universe would seem impossible. It's only speculation and there's no evidence to read into it too deeply but it is interesting to see since.
