This is the homework assignment of a kid in ancient Egypt. It was written nearly two thousand years ago and is easy enough for us to understand. The top two lines were written by a teacher and were copied twice by the student whose writing was much messier. The exercise was to teach writing but also morals. The lines say you should only accept advice from someone wise and you cannot trust all your friends. The words are in Greek because this was after Egypt was conquered by Alexander the Great and Greek became the official government language. Not to roast an ancient school kid but you can see some mistakes in their work. For example the first C-shaped letter gets dropped and they run out of space at the end carving into the wooden frame. The dark area is wax and they are carving into it with a metal stylus. Our technology is a little more advanced now but interestingly this method of teaching writing is still very much used today.
