Top three actors who sustain permanent injuries while filming a movie. Number three is Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Now I've heard it said that Bruce Willis lost two thirds of the hearing in his left ear because of the sounds of the explosions that went off in the movie. A very loud, very explosive film, but a masterpiece, of course. Number two, Ellen Burston in the Exorcist. Now there's a famous scene where the girl does something with a cross. I'm not going to be able to talk about on here, but she grabs Ellen Burston's face, puts it down in her no-no area, and then throws it across the room. And they had Ellen hooked up to a wire that pulled her across the room, and she told the director it's pulling me too hard. The directors William Friedkin, and he ignored it, and the second time they did it, they pulled her, and she sustained a major spinal injury, she had to go to the hospital, and that take is in the film, adding to the horrifying things that are already in that movie to watch her reaction from getting injured is pretty awful. If you like this list and want more about it, then don't forget to leave me a comment with an injury that an actor sustained on set that could have been permanent. Also follow my wife Samantha, who I've tagged, who's back there. Number one, now this one, the guy didn't even make it into the movie. They replaced him with Jack Haley, but in the Wizard of Oz, the dust from the tin makeup got into buddy Epsons' lungs, and he was hospitalized.
