Top five actors who refused to play gay characters. Number five is Kevin Hart. Now Kevin was offered a role in "Tropic Thunder" that was like kind of a flamboyant rapper and he said that the character was too flagrant. And then he went on in interviews to say he doesn't think he could ever authentically play a gay person. Number four is Will Smith. Will played a queer character early in his career and then avoided taking roles that were gay later on for fear of it damaging his image. Number three, Eddie Murphy. Eddie Murphy has refused gay roles and number two is Tom Cruz. And we're all waiting for that because that might be the best role he ever plays, you know? If you like this list of more about other nonsense, follow me, leave me a comment with your thoughts on straight actors refusing to play gay roles. I don't really have a problem with it as long as it's not laced in homophobia. I mean, I think as a gay person, it's difficult and uncomfortable for me to ever play a straight role. So it would make sense for a straight person to feel uncomfortable playing a gay person. And, you know, they just want to bring authenticity to it. I also follow my wife Samantha who I've tagged and find our brand new podcast, "Brutally Honest" with Sam and Jacob wherever you get your podcasts. It's great. Number one is Mark Wahlberg.
